| LITTLE JEMS |
Painting on a large scale is dramatic and exciting! Often, the painting has a presence just because of its size. However, the inimacy and surprises found in a small painting can be moving. In this six hour workshop, we will explore the making of "little" paintings. We'll ask the questions: "What makes a little painting work, command attention...what gives it that quiet, special quality?" Whether a landscape, still life or interior, one of the joys of making a small work is the immediacy of the final product. Artists are encouraged to bring multiple small scale canvases.
